Hello!
My name is Lisa and I am the sole owner/operator of Sugar Shack Cakes. I opened my home based business in May 2006 and have over 20 years of commercial and home based cake decorating experience to draw from when designing your special cake.
My cake kitchen is located in my Hidden Valley home in Calgary, Alberta. I am licensed with the City of Calgary and have been approved by the Calgary Health Region.
My specialty is children's birthday party cakes, though I am trained in all areas of decorating. I love to test the boundaries of my imagination when given a general idea for a theme to work with. My design ideas materialize from simple inspirations such as the name of a child's favourite character to the plates or napkins used for the party.
I have a very strong repeat customer base and am now encouraging these customers to book at least one month in advance. The word of mouth about my little business has been phenominal which unfortunately means I must turn away many requests. I currently do not have any plans to expand the business and appreciate the understanding from all my clients that this is what I do part-time while being able to raise my family!
